Material Evaluation & Strategy
The Material Evaluation & Strategy service helps develop and define
appropriateness of construction materials chosen, how they are used
and where they are sourced in acknowledgement of environmental concerns
and best practices.
Construction material considerations are numerous and include: the
embodied energy in their production/transportation; efficient use of
resources; toxicity and impact on environmental and human health; indoor
air quality; regional availability and acquisition; lifespan, maintenance
and end-of-useful-life options; and construction waste management and
recycling.
Material choices are relevant to acquiring points in Building Ratings
Systems.
We have developed in-house tools for managing
materials information and compliance with Green
Star requirements. |
