Passive Low Energy Design (PLED)

Our Passive Low Energy Design service helps inform the project team on how to design a comfortable building that require less energy than a ‘standard’ building by defining an overall energy strategy beginning at an early concept stage.

This is accomplished by exploring and optimising the thermal performance of the envelope, solar control, and the use of natural lighting and ventilation.

Then by quantifying and qualifying the design and decision criteria – often with design-based computer modeling - suitable passive, mechanical or hybrid systems can be evaluated for best performance and cost impact.
